6 New Road, Laxey IM4 7HS
2012
By chance, my last visit on my second and last day photographing in Laxey was to the New Inn. Margaret (Meg) Cowin greeted me to inform me the pub was closing either later that day, or the next day, for good. I felt privileged to be witness to, and to document, the end of an era for a pub more than 150 years old. I am grateful to Mrs Cowin for posing for photos and answering my questions in good spirit on what was no doubt a sad occasion.
